Josh Deth, managing partner dreamt up the idea for Revolution while working at Goose Island as a cellarman and brew pub brewer. After the first few tries at opening a brewery didn’t work out, Josh opened Handlebar in 2003 with his wife Krista and a few friends. Revolution Brewing opened up in February 2010 after three years of raising funds, dealing with the zoning department, and construction. Their production brewery and tap room opened in spring 2012 and continues to expand. Revolution Brewing is Chicago’s new hometown craft brewery. The brewpub in Logan Square is a bustling, neighborhood institution where friends and families meet to enjoy the freshest beer in town. Opening the brewery has been a labor of love. You can see that in everything they do ranging from the details of their carved fists holding up their mahogany bar to the pungent hop aroma of their Anti-Hero IPA to their creative dishes like their bacon-fat popcorn.
